The name of our second wine from Maremma comes from the Latin motto ‘Per Aspera Ad Astra’ – ‘Through hardship to the stars’. Great wines can only be created in accordance with this principle, as they require a great deal of work in the vineyard. Like its big brother Nectar Dei, Ad Astra is produced in our sun-drenched vineyards of Mongibello delle Mandorlaie in southern Maremma.

Ad Astra is an uncomplicated yet complex red wine that is also very enjoyable when young. The 2008 vintage was awarded the highest distinction of 3 glasses by Gambero Rosso. The 2014 vintage received 93 points from James Suckling, and the 2015 vintage even received 94 points from Suckling!

The 2023 vintage is an exciting cuvée of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
