Nectar Dei, our super-premium wine, named after the ancient name of Nittardi, which was discovered in a document dating back to 1183, is an exceptional cuvée made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot. In keeping with Nittardi tradition, the first bottles of this new wine were presented to Pope Benedict XVI. After all, it is said that Michelangelo Buonarroti presented Julius II and Leo X with wine from his Nittardi estate as early as the 16th century, according to Michelangelo, in order to ‘give the Pope a genuine gift’.
