About the wine: <\/b>In the heart of Chianti Classico, not far from Castellina in Chianti, two Tuscan farmers planted eight different grape varieties in 1968 on a small plot of the Villa Rosa vineyard at 270m. These included, apart from Sangiovese, seven indigenous rarities that had already fallen into near oblivion by that time. Later, Peter Femfert and Stefania Canali strolled through the vineyard, recognised these forgotten treasures and decided to revive these old vines. After years of careful and intensive work in the vineyard, the first grapes were ready for manual harvesting in 2012.<\/p>\n
We are proud to present our new Chianti Classico Belcanto 2023: a unique cuv\u00e9e of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Malvasia Nera, Foglia Tonda, Pugnitello, Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino and Canaiolo, a wine with a classic yet modern profile, rounded tannins, liveliness and freshness.<\/p>\n
In music, \u2018Belcanto\u2019 refers to the harmonious sound of a complete work in which every single note can be clearly heard. An ideal namesake for Nittardi\u2019s new composition. The label celebrates the Chianti terroir, with its characteristic grey and red tones, and highlights the eight grape varieties from which the wine is made. In the centre, one can see the profile of Michelangelo, the estate\u2019s historic owner and a source of much inspiration. The name also recalls the words of Luigi Veronelli: \u2018Wine is the earth\u2019s hymn to the heavens.\u2019 The label reflects this identity: eight stones in the hues of Galestro and Chianti Classico red, symbolising both the eight notes of the musical scale and the eight grape varieties. From this mosaic emerges the face of Nittardi\u2019s historic owner, Michelangelo Buonarroti, embodying the connection between art, land and wine.<\/p>\n
